Compliance and maintenance records are essential parts of holding a mooring site licence at Rottnest Island. This section provides information on how to meet your obligations, including how to submit mooring site maintenance reports through your online Mooring Licensing Portal account.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Compliances section of your account dashboard will list conditions that relate to your permits/licences with their relevant due dates.  

Examples of common licence/permit conditions include provision of a current mooring inspection report for mooring site licensees, and current insurance documentation for all permit/licence types.

The Compliances section is relevant to all permit/licence holders.

If the Compliances section of your dashboard is empty, you have no upcoming compliance conditions for your permit/licence.

Yes, you will be notified by email of any upcoming permit/licence conditions. The status of your permit/licence condition can be viewed anytime from your account dashboard under the Compliances section.

To submit your mooring inspection report, log in to the Mooring Licensing Portal then follow the steps below: 

  • From your account dashboard, select the ‘Compliances’ dropdown arrow 

  • Select ‘Continue’ on the compliance condition you wish to submit 

  • Add details and attach documentation as required e.g. the mooring inspection report obtained from your mooring contractor 

  • Select ‘Submit’ 

Mooring site licence holders must always have a current mooring inspection report. It is your responsibility to submit your mooring inspection report before its due date. Please ensure you have engaged your contractor well in advance of your mooring inspection report expiry date.

Your mooring site licence may be suspended until your mooring inspection report has been submitted and approved.

No, RIA will no longer accept mooring inspection reports received by email. Licensees will be required to upload their reports through the Compliances section of their dashboard as soon as the inspection report is completed.
