A new cultural space named Kwoba Wirin-up, meaning Good Spirit Place in Noongar, has officially opened on Wadjemup / Rottnest Island.
Located in Thomson Bay, Kwoba Wirin-up offers a space for Aboriginal visitors and workers to reflect, connect to Country, and undertake cultural practices.
Kwoba Wirin-up was an initiative of the Wadjemup Aboriginal Reference Group (WARG).
This project represents the strategic focus area of the Rottnest Island Management Plan 2023–28 to respect and engage with Wadjemup’s cultural heritage.
