The Rottnest Island Authority is committed to using and promoting renewable energy.
To safeguard the quality of the electricity supply to Rottnest Island, the RIA manages renewable energy hosting capacity. ‘Hosting capacity’ relates to how much renewable energy our electricity system can accommodate without disrupting supply to our customers. Following installation of a new Solar Farm, Rottnest Island’s systems have successfully maximised the current opportunities for larger photovoltaic systems.
Hosting capacity is generally available to residential customers who wish to install a five kilowatt or less renewable energy system.
Should additional hosting capacity become available it will be published here.
